The Southsiders are Dave Dailey (bass), Les Renshaw (guitar and vocals) and John Stirling guitar, dobro and vocals). They have been together for about 12 years, each having played independently or in other bands in earlier times: Dave and Les played together for some time in The Southside Pickers and Route 34. John was a founder member of The Sad Pig Band (with Judy Aucott and Dave Hughes). Dave Dailey was a member of the illustrious ‘Busking Band’ for several years helping to raise thousands of pounds for various charities. Les was a stalwart of the Poynton folk centre and later.. resident at the very popular Deanwater folk concerts.The Southsiders blend a variety of musical genres including Blues, Ragtime, and Americana, ranging from Tin-Pan-Alley to Ry Cooder and J.J.
